A little history of the S.A.M...

The Montmartre Athletic Society, founded in 1898, is probably one of the oldest French sports societies. It was founded by Eugene Robert, Champion of the shot put, with the improvement of the physical value of the human being as a goal.

René Duverger Olympic champion in 1932 was one of its most illustrious members like Charles Rigoulot or Ernest Cadine (seen on the pictures from the left).

The sphere bars and the dumbbells preserved in the SAM’s museum reflect this exceptional heritage.

The museum of the S.A.M is open to the public every day during the opening hours (See category ABOUT US - Access, opening hours).
